Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to assist the physician during surgery in the operating room across multiple specialties. The role involves technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and requires strong teamwork within the surgical department.

The ideal candidate will have 3 years of surgical tech experience with certification, or 10 years total experience if no degree is held, plus BCLS and CST certification.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a HS Diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technology or LPN program.
• Experience: 3 years as a Surgical Technologist with certification; or 10 years total experience if no degree.
• Licenses: BCLS required; CST certification; GA LPN license if applicable; CST required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
