Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to facilitate patient care in the Operating Room under RN supervision across multiple specialties. The role supports surgeons, handles routine intraoperative tasks, and contributes to patient safety and efficiency in the OR.

Candidates should hold a Surgical Tech Certification or equivalent, possess a HS diploma or GED, and have 3 years of OR experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology program or LPN program required.
• 3 years of experience with Surgical Tech Certification required, or 10 years total experience with substitution for certification.

• Assist the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) across multiple specialties; perform technical and some patient-care duties under RN direction; serves as a resource and supports detailed surgical endeavors within the surgery department.

Responsibilities

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
