Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support OR teams across multiple specialties. You will assist physicians during surgery, perform technical tasks under RN supervision, and serve as a clinical resource within the surgical services group.

Required are a GED or high school diploma, graduation from a surgical technology or LPN program, and BCLS; GA LPN license or CST certification may be required upon hire.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire required; GA LPN license if applicable or CST certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the OR for multiple specialties under RN direction.
• Perform technical and some patient care duties; act as a clinical specialist across service lines.
• Maintain surgical specialties and serve as a resource; engage in detailed surgical endeavors.

Responsibilities

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
