Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Surgical Tech to join the Main OR team on a PRN, variable shift basis. The role supports physicians during surgeries, maintains sterile technique, and functions as a clinical resource across service lines under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a Surgical Technology program graduate, either a CST certification or LPN option in lieu of degree, and BCLS upon hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience preferred or 10 years substituting for degree.
• BCLS required; CST or LPN licensure as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgery in the OR across specialties.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with patient care under RN supervision.
• Serve as a resource within the surgical services team.

Responsibilities:

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of expereince and Surgical Tech Certification Required or
• In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
