Job summary

Flanigan’s in Surfside, Florida is seeking friendly servers to join our team. You’ll welcome guests, take orders, serve meals and beverages, and ensure guests’ needs are met with prompt, accurate service.

The role requires physical stamina to stand during shifts, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and basic English literacy for taking handwritten checks and communicating with guests. We offer a five-day work week, health insurance, and 401K eligibility.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc.
• Complete Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Florida statutes and Flanigan’s policies.
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s policies and Florida statutes.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support teammates in maintaining table appearance and running orders.
• Know the menu and promotions; answer guests’ questions clearly.
• Accurately take orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Deliver orders promptly from kitchen or bar to guests.
• Assess guests’ demeanour and know when to summon a manager.
• Process payments and ensure correct change using POS.
• Handle shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and keep restrooms clean for guests.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
