Job summary

Flanigan's in Florida is seeking a friendly server to welcome guests, take orders, and deliver food and beverages with attention to detail. You will work with the team to ensure fast, accurate service in a lively dining environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, handling POS transactions, and upselling promotions while following safety policies. This role offers a five-day work week and benefits such as health, dental, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk 100% of shift.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Florida Responsible Vendor program completion.
• Food safety certification completion.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance and running food/drink.
• Know the Food & Beverage menu, promotions, and answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately write guests’ orders and enter into POS.
• Deliver orders from kitchen/bar to guests promptly.
• Assess guests’ demeanour and summon a Manager when needed.
• Handle payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards) and give correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and keep restrooms clean for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
