Job summary

Flanigan’s Surfside seeks a friendly server to welcome guests, take orders, and deliver meals with speed and care. Maintain a clean dining area, assist teammates, process payments at the POS, and stay informed on menus and promotions. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.

Requirements: stand for entire shift, lift up to 50 lbs, read/write English, and complete Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk 100% of shift.
• Able to reach, bend, stoop frequently.
• Lift up to 50 lbs while delivering and clearing to tables.

Responsibilities

• Follows all safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance and running food/drink.
• Be knowledgeable about menus, promotions, and answer guests’ questions.
• Accurately write down orders and enter into POS system promptly.
• Deliver orders from kitchen/bar to guests in a timely manner.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and summon a Manager when needed.
• Process payments (credit, cash, or gift cards) and ensure correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
