Job summary

Flanigan’s is seeking friendly and outgoing servers. You will welcome guests, take orders, and deliver meals and beverages with accuracy and timeliness. You’ll assist teammates, handle payments, and keep the dining area clean and inviting.

Candidates should be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and possess strong English reading/writing skills. Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certs are required.

Qualifications

• Must stand/walk 100% of shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to deliver food and stock areas.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Completion of Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Take orders and enter into POS system accurately and promptly.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining table appearance and supporting teammates as needed.
• Handle payments (cash, credit, gift cards) and ensure correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and sidework.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Overview

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal – welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

Responsibilities

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests

Qualifications

• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
