Job summary

Ascot Group is seeking an Underwriting Assistant, Surety, to support the full account lifecycle including new business, renewals, endorsements, and reinstatements. The role partners with the Surety Underwriting team to ensure accurate processing, responsive service to agents and clients, and high-quality documentation.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in insurance supporting Surety, strong Excel/Word skills, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of insurance experience supporting a Surety team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in a multi-task environment and meet deadlines.
• Team orientation and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Process Surety transactions with accurate data entry across one or more product lines.
• Review requests for new bonds, riders, and code new business, renewals, cancellations, endorsements, and reinstatements.
• Provide underwriting support to the Surety Underwriting team and exceptional service to internal and external customers.
• Foster relationships with distribution partners and assist with inquiries.
• Input new bond transactions and reconcile billing and commissions as needed.
• Coordinate with IT and operations for issue resolution and data integrity.
