Job summary

Ascot Group in New York is seeking an Underwriting Assistant for Surety to support the full account life cycle—from new business and renewals to endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements. You will work closely with the Surety Underwriting team to ensure accurate processing and outstanding service for agents and clients.

The role emphasizes data integrity, timely handling of bond transactions, and collaboration with the accounting and IT teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of insurance experience supporting a Surety team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Surety transactions with accurate data entry and bond administration.
• Support underwriting team and provide responsive service to clients and agents.
• Reconcile billing, premium, and commission discrepancies upon request.
• Maintain documentation accuracy and data quality across systems.
• Collaborate with IT and operations on issue resolution.
