Job summary

RLI Corp is seeking a Surety Underwriting assistant to support the underwriting team with premium production goals and service to agents and brokers. This role involves preparing bond documents, handling endorsements, and ensuring records are accurately updated, while supporting specialty program needs.

You will assist in underwriting file maintenance, improve key workflows, and potentially handle limited authority tasks for new and renewal accounts as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; high school diploma required plus 4+ years in a similar role.
• Experience in Surety, Insurance or Financial Services preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-performance team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for national underwriting teams, assisting with duties in and around the underwriting process.
• Provide support for sales regions, assisting with marketing and sales efforts.
• Assist brokers, bondholders and obligees with bond term transactions and endorsements.
• Create and issue new and renewal bond documents and update systems of record.
• Research and resolve billing and account discrepancies.
