Job summary

RLI Corp is seeking an Underwriting/Operations Assistant for Excess lines, with base duties spanning creation of policy documents, compliance checks, and coordinating inspections and audits. The role supports underwriters, producers, and reinsurers, handling data and reports to ensure accurate policy administration.

Located in Bala Cynwyd, PA or Glastonbury, CT, this full-time position offers a pathway to develop underwriting operations expertise and participate in the company’s total rewards

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma; Associates degree preferred.
• 0-2+ years of related experience for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Create policy documents representing the insurance transaction bound by the underwriter.
• Ensure regulatory-compliant coding and policy issuance for each transaction.
• Order inspections, premium audits, and loss runs as required.
• Maintain electronic and/or physical underwriting files.
• Solicit renewal transactions and re-format data for import into front-end systems.
• Provide operational, production, and underwriting reports to staff as requested.
