Job summary

Cygnethas been providing a national network of high-quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years. This role is for a female Care & Support Worker to work days at Longfield, Clayton, BD14 6NP, delivering person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

You’ll work full time (42 hours/week), 12-hour shifts, alternate weekends, on-site, with generous learning and apprenticeship opportunities and wellbeing benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
  • Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
  • Assist with and report on medical and welfare needs.
  • Safeguard; maintain a safe, clean environment for all.
  • Support service users to access the community, attend work/college/hobbies and activities.
  • Involve service users in tasks such as cooking and cleaning.

You’ll be working full time42hours a week,12hour shifts, including alternate weekends (four shifts week one, three shifts week two, on a two week rolling rota), days only,making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Longfield.

Located in the friendly village of Clayton in the suburbs of Bradford, Longfield House is a specialist residential service providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs who may have behaviours that challenge.

Person-centred planning is at the heart of everything we do and we are able to meet the changing needs of the people we support as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported.
