Job summary

CareTech in the United Kingdom is recruiting Support Workers to join the Leech Street service in Bury, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) on a rota basis.

You will deliver person-centred support, assist with daily living skills, promote independence and wellbeing, and maintain accurate records as part of a team, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech).
• Ability to keep calm under pressure.
• Confidence to work alone and also be part of a team (family).

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required.
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
• Support activities, appointments, and community access. Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team.
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.

Job description

Rate: £12.86 per hour + £7.83 sleep-in per hour

Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

About the Service – Leech Street

Leech Street is a registered residential care service, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts
• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.
• Holidays and short breaks
• Walks in the local park and community
• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

You will:

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.
