Job summary

CareTech in Oldham is recruiting a Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs with daily living, independence and community activities.

You will deliver person-centred support in line with individual plans, help with daily living skills and personal care, and maintain accurate records as part of a close team. This is a permanent, full-time role, 37.5 hours per week on a rota including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis.
• Experience delivering person-centred support.
• Experience supporting adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs.
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
• Good communication and written skills
• Ability to keep calm under pressure
• Confidence to work alone and also be part of a team (family)

About the Service – Bardsley Vale

Bardsley Vale is a registered residential care service, supporting adults aged 18+ in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. The service promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing through tailored, person-centred support.

Service User Interests

• Arts and crafts


• Days out such as Theme Parks, Meals out, Social activities, Christmas markets etc.


• Holidays and short breaks


• Walks in the local park and community


• Cooking and baking to develop life skills

The Role

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.
