Job summary

The National Autistic Society is seeking dedicated Support Workers for our Blackburn site. You will help autistic adults live their best lives by following individual support plans and daily routines.

This part-time role (30 hours/week) requires flexibility for evenings and weekends. Driving licence preferred; DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the process. Benefits include pension, generous annual leave, training and more.

About the Service

Our supported living services are for autistic adults who need extra help to live in their own homes or within our accommodation, whether as tenants or owner occupiers, living alone, or with others. North 1 support a total of 13 autistic people across Lancashire.

We are looking for caring and reliable Support Workers. Your role is to help people live their best lives by following their support plans and daily routines.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating)
  • Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts)

What We’re Looking For

  • For you to inspire others with a positive attitude towards supporting vulnerable people
  • Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential
  • Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome

This advert is for a part-time position at 30 hours per week.

Your working pattern in this role will require flexibility to meet the needs of the people supported and their families and will include evening and weekend working.

Possession of a driving licence (minimum one year) ispreferred.
