Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada seeks full-time Support Staff for the Veteran Grant Per Diem program at the Mather Community Campus. You will provide compassionate, non-judgmental assistance to residents and help ensure safety and well-being.

This role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, crisis de-escalation, and reliability, with CPR/First Aid training required within 90 days and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work with diverse populations facing homelessness and related challenges.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and be a team player.
• Requires CPR and First Aid training within 90 days of employment and annual TB testing.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules to residents and enforce observance of rules.
• Coordinate meal preparation, bedding, showers, and daily routines.
• Provide awake shift coverage and conduct hourly safety checks.
• De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance as needed.
• Maintain daily program reports and logs for accountability.
• Perform housekeeping and maintenance to meet health standards.
• Respond to client questions and document concerns promptly.
• Communicate clearly with residents and staff on shift.
