Summary:

Are you looking for a career that makes a difference in the lives of Maine children? Sweetser is seeking a Part-Time Support Services Worker! This is a great school hours, part-time position supporting students experiencing mental, behavioral, and emotional health challenges by facilitating daily lunch service. Responsibilities include picking up lunches, serving students, and cleanup. The role may also support the school with basic tasks such as cleaning and organizing.

Training is included, and Sweetser offers opportunities for career development and advancement!

Essential Functions:

• Pick up and transport school lunches daily.
• Order lunch for students on days when alternative plans are needed.
• Work with the Director to meet nutritional and allergy needs.
• Ensure lunch is served daily with necessary support to keep school on schedule.
• Clean kitchen and equipment after each lunch service.
• Must have up-to-date ServSafe Certification.
• Supervise students helping with lunch by training, coaching, and encouraging appropriate job results.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, including light housekeeping and organizing.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience & Job Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience preparing food for groups.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Current ServSafe certification.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of proper food preparation and safety handling.
• Ability to perform simple math.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment such as fry-o-lator, grills, ovens, mixers, etc.
