The Water Services Department is seeking a Support Services Aide. The Support Services Aide performs relatively complex clerical, accounting, dispatching, and inventory work while providing sound customer service.

The Position Will Provide Administrative Support Functions Which Includes
  • Map reading,
  • Payroll functions,
  • Scheduling equipment use,
  • Preparing periodic summary reports,
  • Inputting information into a database,
  • Working in Microsoft Word and Excel,
  • Tracking staff time and work completion,
  • Receiving, writing and processing emails,
  • Updating multiple spreadsheets and records,
  • Compiling statistics for management reports,
  • Processing monthly invoices for services delivered,
  • Creating and maintaining computerized databases,
  • Answering phone calls from internal and external customers,
  • Using base radios and telephones to transmit and/or receive information,
  • Other administrative tasks that are required for the daily operation of the section.

SALARY

Pay Range: $20.92 to $35.78 per hour.

Hiring Range: $20.92 to $30.92 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two years of responsible clerical work experience which provides the ability to maintain a variety of financial and related records, perform basic mathematical computations, operate base radios/telephone equipment, order and dispense supplies and materials, and deal with the public.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
  • Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience in/with the following:
    • Use of eProcurement.
    • Providing quality customer service.
    • Accounting practices.
    • Working in a field office or construction environment.
    • Working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher and Outlook.
    • Computerized Maintenance Management System data entry.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
