Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe, timely freight movement and strong customer service.

You will be trained on fleet optimization, payroll, budgeting, P&L analysis, and reporting, with a focus on building relationships with drivers and carriers and maintaining DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR GED with 1 year experience in management, transportation/logistics, or related field.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to regional relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and assist with fleet operations optimization and profitability.
• Learn to manage payroll, budgeting, P&L analysis, and reporting.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventative maintenance and safety issues.
• Plan loads, routes, and monitor freight movement to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure DOT compliance.
