Job summary

JB Hunt in Georgia is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring safe and timely movement of freight and excellent customer service. Training will cover DOT compliance and driver regulatory requirements.

The role involves building relationships with drivers and carriers, supporting payroll and budgeting tasks, and assisting with fleet planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field or high school diploma with 1 year of related experience
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed
• Willingness to relocate regionally depending on account assignment

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure smooth new carrier setup
• Fill in for absent personnel and participate in projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability
• Learn to train drivers and staff and assist with internal and third-party systems
• Help maximize fleet efficiency, identify improvements, and present reporting and financial analysis
• Learn to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment
• Perform payroll, budget management, pay issue resolution, and financial reporting tasks
• Oversee yard operations, maintenance scheduling, and safety issue resolution
• Assist with routing, planning, and issue resolution with drivers and customers

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain or related field; OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year in management/transportation/logistics
