Job summary

Charter Manufacturing invites you to join Charter Wire as a Supply Chain Intern in Milwaukee, WI, starting January 2027. This paid, year‑round internship blends part‑time academic-year work with full‑time summer hours to build hands‑on experience in production planning and inventory control.

You’ll monitor performance, assist with material procurement, perform cycle counts, and support the Procurement and Planning teams on process improvements and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a four‑year degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field with current status of at least a sophomore level.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to succeed in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Preferred experience: ERP experience. Purchasing experience. Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production performance, capacity utilization, inventory levels, and raw material availability to help optimize production schedules and support on‑time delivery.
• Assist with raw material procurement activities and help manage inventory that supports the manufacturing process.
• Perform routine inventory audits to validate system accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Provide day‑to‑day support for the Procurement and Planning teams by assisting with ad hoc projects, data analysis, process improvements, and other supply chain initiatives.

About the Supply Chain Internship:

Support a fast‑paced manufacturing environment by assisting with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management activities. The intern will gain hands‑on experience creating and maintaining production schedules for multiple manufacturing assets while balancing changing customer demand, production priorities, material availability, and capacity constraints.

Program structure:

Schedule: Part‑time (15-20 hours/week) during the academic year and full‑time (40 hours/week) during the summer. Location: Milwaukee, WI Start Date: January 2027 Duration: Year‑round internship

What we’re looking for:
