Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer, Manufacturing (Raptor) to lead supplier quality and process improvements for the rocket program. You will own NPIs, determine optimal manufacturing methods, and drive ramp-to-rate for new and re-sourced parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical contact for rocket parts to mitigate manufacturing/quality risk.
• Own NPI of new parts/assemblies on the rocket and ramp to rate.
• Drive product improvements and drawings to reduce risk and improve manufacturability/cost.
• Root cause analysis and containment for supplier/SpaceX parts; drive closure.
• Create and disposition issue tickets with engineering counterparts.
• Lead containment activities with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with procurement to vet exceptional suppliers meeting takt times.
• Review supplier processes and quality systems for improvements.
• Demonstrate innovation, attention to detail, and willingness to tackle new areas.
