Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer, Manufacturing for Falcon & Dragon to lead supplier quality and manufacturability efforts across machining and assembly of rocket components.

You will drive DFMs, PPAP, supplier qualification, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement, coordinating with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to meet aggressive takt times and milestones.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with manufacturing and/or inspection of mechanical products in a production environment.
• Experience with machining and assembly processes for metallic components.
• Knowledge of supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP, FAI) and MSA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned parts and mitigate manufacturing risks.
• Drive improvements to reduce defects and improve manufacturability and lead times.
• Review issues and implement root-cause corrective actions with suppliers.
• Lead PPAP activities to ensure stable supply and smooth ramp.
• Own NPI of new parts and assemblies and determine manufacturing methods.
