Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a GLOBAL SUPPLY MANAGER (RAPTOR) in Hawthorne, CA to lead high-visibility procurement for advanced propulsion components. The role focuses on strategic negotiations, supplier development, and cost reduction across machined parts, forgings, and metallic raw materials, with close collaboration with engineering and finance teams.

The ideal candidate will balance cost, rate, and engine reliability, drive supplier improvements, and support ramp-up of vehicle production.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or relevant experience in mechanical/aerospace materials, procurement, or supply chain.
• Experience in CNC machined parts, forgings, or metallic raw materials is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the supply base for Raptor components including machined parts and assemblies.
• Monitor costs and negotiate with suppliers to control price increases.
• Forecast demand and ensure capacity and quality for ramp-up of production.
• Advise on design for manufacturability and cost-reduction strategies for mechanical commodities.
• Conduct Make vs. Buy analyses and optimize sourcing plans.
• Visit supplier facilities to assess capability and capacity for rapid deployment.
