Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer, Manufacturing in Hawthorne to lead supplier quality, drive DFMs and PPAP processes, and coordinate manufacturing improvements for Falcon & Dragon components. This role blends hands-on machining knowledge with cross‑functional leadership to push for timely, high‑quality supplier performance.

You will review supplier performance, implement root-cause actions, and scale new parts from NPI to stable production, ensuring manufacturability and cost

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering.
1+ years of manufacturing/inspection experience in production environments.
Experience with machining and ancillary operations is a plus.
Familiarity with ISO 9000/TS/AS9100/NADCAP and MRP/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical point of contact for assigned parts and mitigate supplier risk.
Drive product improvements and drawing updates to improve manufacturability and lead times.
Lead PPAP and new part introductions for ramping to rate.
Conduct DFMs early with suppliers and SpaceX to ensure manufacturability.
Create and disposition issue tickets and coordinate corrective actions.
Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve defects and drive containment.
