Overview: Supervisory Medical Support Assistants (SMSA) provide administrative support to clinical staff, ensuring efficient healthcare services for our Nation's Veterans. They play a vital role in promoting timely, accurate, and accessible healthcare, contributing to VA's mission of delivering high-quality care. SMSAs may be assigned across various service lines within the medical center and must demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills to ensure quality care and compliance with policies.

At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-7 level or equivalent, leading or supervising MSAs or administrative patient support staff in inpatient, outpatient, or interdisciplinary settings.
