Job summary

FCCI Insurance Group seeks an Underwriting Supervisor for its Surplus Lines division in Sarasota, FL. The role leads the underwriting team to meet goals for profitability and policyholder service, while developing agency and key account relationships.

The position operates in a hybrid schedule, with two days at home and three days in the office. The ideal candidate has four+ years of E&S underwriting experience with casualty focus, plus at least one year in leadership, strong analytical pricing,

Responsibilities

Currently seeking an Underwriting Supervisor for our Surplus Lines division. The supervisor will be responsible for leading assigned underwriting team in accordance with corporate and regional goals for production, profitability, retention and policyholder service and manage a book of business. Additional responsibilities include: supporting the development of agency and key account relationships and overseeing the underwriting function including analyzing and evaluating information and exposures on risks of a increasing complex technical nature with a high level of authority.

This position will be located in our Sarasota, FL office. The role is eligible to participate in our hybrid schedule of two days work from home and three days in the office.

The salary range for this position is $102,357-$157,629 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Minimum four years of E&S underwriting with focus on casualty lines; including 1 year of leadership experience
• Demonstrated ability to effectively assess risks, price, and negotiate business in accordance with established guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of current market conditions, trends, competition, and new products / coverages being offered by competitors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making.
• Thorough understanding of key exposures and portfolio pricing techniques.
