Job summary

FCCI Insurance Group in Sarasota, FL is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter for our Surplus Lines division. You will determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, and terms by analyzing exposures and information on increasingly complex risks.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 remote) with potential locations including Sarasota, FL; Glen Allen, VA; Ridgeland, MS; Lawrenceville, GA; Richardson, TX; Carmel, IN or remote within FCCI states.

Responsibilities

• Researches and develops new classes of business as directed. Researches market trends and competition.
• Assesses market viability, suggest form wording on endorsements and exclusions and supports rate changes based on global strategy.
• Reviews individual risks submitted by assigned agents to determine acceptability within company guidelines.
• Analyzes exposures to loss, develops an adequate premium charge for the exposure, determines endorsements and exclusions to address loss exposures for the insurance contract, including developing manuscript wording appropriate to the risk.
• Achieves team/individual production and loss ratio goals with assigned agents / brokers through sound book management and marketing.
• Oversees or handles policy maintenance items and other mid-term requests, as well as conducting midterm policy audits.
• Travels to agent offices as required for training, marketing or production visits. Assists with development of marketing ideas and strategies.

This role will can be located preferably in our Sarasota, FL corporate office or regional Glen Allen, VA location with a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office/2 remote). Will also consider other regional/office locations (Ridgeland, MS, Lawrenceville, GA, Richardson, TX, Carmel, IN) or remote within FCCI states.

The salary range for this position is $91,389-$140,737 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
