Job summary

Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel is seeking a team member to assist the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations. You will explain wagering rules, review betting lines and odds, and process wagers for guests while upholding regulatory and company standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining customer sheets, monitoring funds and odds, and communicating promotions. The role requires flexibility for weekends and holidays, strong math skills, and professional guest service at all times.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.
• Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, to guests as needed.
• Approves over the limit wagers in manager's absence and approves low-limit comps as allowed by regulations.
• Approves and refuses wagers from customers.
• Updates and maintains all customer sheets.
• Monitors monies wagered and updates odds per policy.
• Issue and redeem betting slips accurately while providing gaming information.
• Maintain knowledge of Louisiana Gaming Commission regulations and Bally’s Shreveport policies.
• Handle guest disputes quickly and professionally.
• Assist with training and scheduling of staff.
• Promote safety and ensure daily promotions are communicated.
• Communicate professional image and high energy; work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Work in an environment with cigarette smoke exposure and standing/walking for extended periods.
• Must be able to read and promulgate written memos, rules and regulations.
• Must be able to analyze and solve problems with good judgment.

Job description

• Assists the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.


• Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests as needed.


• Approves over the limit wagers for the property in absence of manager and approve low-limit comps as permitted by jurisdictional gaming regulations.


• Approves and refuses wagers from customers.


• Updates and maintains all customer sheets.


• Monitors all monies being wagered and updates the betting odds according to company policy.


• Accurately issue and redeem betting slips for guests while providing gaming information and abiding by all gaming regulations/requirements.


• Maintains & continually updates knowledge of regulations set forth by the Louisiana Gaming Commission and all government agencies.


• Knows and abide by Bally’s Shreveport policies, procedures, internal controls, and courtesy guidelines.


• Performs all duties in accordance with state gaming regulations.


• Handles guest disputes quickly and effectively within the level of their authority.


• Assists with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling employees.


• Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries.


• Maintains knowledge of property information.


• Upholds the Mission Statement.


• Represents Bally’s Shreveport in the most positive manner with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors.

This position requires constant exposure to cigarette smoke and prolonged periods of standing and walking.

The employee must frequently communicate verbally and effectively hear conversations and instructions.

Occasional sitting is required, as well as the ability to lift and carry items as needed to perform essential job duties.

Target Salary Range:

$17.00/Hour
