Job summary

Bally's Shreveport is seeking a staff member to assist the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily sportsbook operations, including explaining wagering rules to guests and approving wagers in the manager's absence.

The role requires strong customer service, accurate money handling, and knowledge of gaming regulations. You will supervise clerks, update betting sheets, and support staff training while working flexible shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in hospitality or gaming environments is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced casino setting.
• Proficient with basic mathematics and statistics.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Assist Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.
• Explain wagering rules and procedures to guests as needed.
• Approve over-the-limit wagers in the manager's absence; approve low-limit comps per regulations.
• Approve or refuse wagers from customers.
• Update and maintain customer sheets.
• Monitor wagering money and update odds per policy.
• Issue and redeem betting slips accurately and inform guests about gaming rules.
• Supervise Mutuel Clerks.
• Maintain knowledge of regulations and Bally's Shreveport policies.
• Contribute to staff training and scheduling; promote safety.
• Resolve guest disputes promptly within authority.
• Maintain awareness of property information.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Assists the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.


• Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests as needed.


• Approves over the limit wagers for the property in absence of manager and approve low-limit comps as permitted by jurisdictional gaming regulations.


• Approves and refuses wagers from customers.


• Updates and maintains all customer sheets.


• Monitors all monies being wagered and updates the betting odds according to company policy.


• Accurately issue and redeem betting slips for guests while providing gaming information and abiding by all gaming regulations/requirements.


• Supervises Mutuel Clerks.


• Maintains & continually updates knowledge of regulations set forth by the Louisiana Gaming Commission and all government agencies.


• Knows and abide by Bally's Shreveport policies, procedures, internal controls, and courtesy guidelines.


• Performs all duties in accordance with state gaming regulations.


• Handles guest disputes quickly and effectively within the level of their authority.


• Assists with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling employees.


• Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries.


• Maintains knowledge of property information.

Target Salary Range:

$17.00/Hour
