Job summary

Bally’s Shreveport is seeking a Race & Sports Book team member to support the Manager in daily operations and ensure accurate wagering information is provided to guests. The role includes approving wagers, updating customer sheets, and maintaining compliance with state gaming regulations.

You will monitor wagering activity, communicate promotions, and contribute to a professional, high-energy guest experience. Weekend/holiday work may be required. Salary starts at $17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds to guests as needed.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays, with potential 6-day weeks when required.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Race & Sports Book Manager in daily operations.
• Approves over the limit wagers for the property in absence of manager and approves low-limit comps as permitted by regulations.
• Approves and refuses wagers from customers.
• Updates and maintains all customer sheets.
• Monitors monies wagered and updates betting odds according to policy.
• Issue and redeem betting slips accurately while providing gaming information.
• Maintain knowledge of regulations set forth by the Louisiana Gaming Commission and other agencies.
• Represent Bally’s Shreveport in a positive manner with guests, coworkers, managers and vendors.
• Promote safety awareness and communicate daily promotions.
• Assist with training, scheduling, and performance measurement of employees.

• Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests as needed.


• Approves over the limit wagers for the property in absence of manager and approve low-limit comps as permitted by jurisdictional gaming regulations.


• Approves and refuses wagers from customers.


• Updates and maintains all customer sheets.


• Monitors all monies being wagered and updates the betting odds according to company policy.


• Accurately issue and redeem betting slips for guests while providing gaming information and abiding by all gaming regulations/requirements.


• Maintains & continually updates knowledge of regulations set forth by the Louisiana Gaming Commission and all government agencies.


• Knows and abide by Bally’s Shreveport policies, procedures, internal controls, and courtesy guidelines.


• Performs all duties in accordance with state gaming regulations.


• Handles guest disputes quickly and effectively within the level of their authority.


• Assists with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling employees.


• Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries.


• Maintains knowledge of property information.


• Upholds the Mission Statement.


• Represents Bally’s Shreveport in the most positive manner with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors.

• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all Hard Rockers and guests.


• Ability to understand and promulgate written memos, instructions, regulations.


• Ability to effectively analyze and solve problems.


• Basic knowledge of mathematics, including statistics.

This position requires constant exposure to cigarette smoke and prolonged periods of standing and walking.

The employee must frequently communicate verbally and effectively hear conversations and instructions.

Occasional sitting is required, as well as the ability to lift and carry items as needed to perform essential job duties.

Target Salary Range:

$17.00/Hour
