Job summary

Yanfeng US Automotive Interior Systems II LLC is seeking a Production Team Leader to coordinate scheduling, training, and performance within the production line. You will work closely with the Production Manager to manage vacations, overtime, and temporary staffing while ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong communication, team-building, and people-management skills, with 3–5 years in production and 1–3 years in the automotive industry.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in production.
• 1-3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Must be able and willing to travel to customer sites, including industrial plants.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with Production Manager (vacations, temporary workers, overtime).
• Provide production expectations and quality feedback in daily start up meeting.
• Monitor daily production requirements to meet customer and plant goals while following HSE and 5S standards.
• Train and monitor employee performance; ensure operator certification and training matrix is updated.
• Compile KPI data and end-of-shift reports; distribute to management and operations staff.
• Ensure job training and daily rotations are in place and enforced.
• Ensure compliance with UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, and all relevant procedures.
• Monitor product quality throughout production.
• Participate in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.
• Review processes and people daily to identify CI opportunities.

Job description

• Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed.
• Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets.
• Compile KPI data and populate end of shift report. Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.
• Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced.
• Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members.
• Monitor quality of product throughout the production process.
• Participates in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.
• Daily review of process and people to identify and implement CI opportunities.

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Area of Study: General Studies
• 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with Production.
• 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with Production.
• 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
• Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
• Computer literacy.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
