Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH seeks a Supervisor Outpatient Phlebotomy – Lab Department Non-Technical. This role oversees phlebotomy and support departments, ensuring accuracy from specimen collection and exceptional patient service.
You will schedule staff for multiple outpatient sites (Manchester, Londonderry, Hooksett and Bedford), supervise training, maintain competency, write policies, and help manage the yearly budget with the Laboratory Support Manager.
The Elliot Hospital Laboratory is a full-service laboratory offering both Clinical and Anatomical Pathology testing. The Clinical Laboratory operates 24 hours/day,7 days/week offering both stat and routine testing. The Anatomical Pathology department operates Monday- Friday 7 am to 4 pm. We conveniently provide services to patients and the community with 5 walk-in labs located in Manchester, Bedford, Hooksett and Londonderry. We also service 60 nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area.
Supervisor Outpatient Phlebotomy – Lab Department Non-Technical at Main Campus Hospital – Full-Time 40 Hours a week primarily 8AM-430PM but must be flexible. (Will primarily sit at main campus but requires travel to all outpatient sites as needed throughout Manchester, Londonderry, Hooksett and Bedford).
Supervise the operations of and coordinates the activities within the phlebotomy and/or support departments, focusing on the needs of the patients, clients and staff ensuring accuracy from the point of specimen collection.
Oversee activities through observation and review daily. Focus on customer service; prioritize, identify and resolve problems maintaining open communication with clients. Oversee the scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage and efficient use of personnel. Oversee the orientation and training of new personnel, nurses, PCT's, MA's and students. Maintain documentation of orientation and training activities. Ensure maintenance of staff competency. Resolve problems and issues related to staff behavior or performance as well as daily operations within the departments and informs Laboratory Support Manager. Develop the skills and abilities of staff members to assist building a team atmosphere. Review, revise and write policies and procedures. Document personnel performance evaluations, counseling and disciplinary action. Prepare and adhere to the yearly budget, in collaboration with the Laboratory Support Manager. Maintain bench skills to function efficiently in all designated areas. Oversee off-site phlebotomy locations and Traveling Phlebotomy Services, including all staff activities. Ensure all locations are up to date for state inspections, working with Laboratory Support Manager. Coordinate daily activities for the operation of all phlebotomy stations and collects performed by Traveling phlebotomy team. Interact with clients as needed, working with Business Development and Clinical Specialist.
