Job summary

The Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH seeks a Supervisor Outpatient Phlebotomy for the Lab Department at the Main Campus Hospital. This full-time role (40 hours) is primarily 8:00 am–4:30 pm with flexibility and travel to outpatient sites in Manchester, Londonderry, Hooksett and Bedford.

You will supervise phlebotomy operations, oversee scheduling, training, and policy development, and ensure staff competency while maintaining quality and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• ASCP certification preferred; 3-5 years laboratory experience required; lead or supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities through observation and review daily; focus on customer service; prioritize, identify and resolve problems with open communication with clients.
• Oversee scheduling of personnel to provide adequate coverage and efficient use of personnel.
• Oversee the orientation and training of new personnel, nurses, PCTs, MAs and students.
• Maintain documentation of orientation and training activities.
• Ensure maintenance of staff competency.
• Resolve problems related to staff behavior or performance and daily operations; inform Laboratory Support Manager.
• Develop staff skills and build a team atmosphere.
• Review, revise and write policies and procedures.
• Document personnel performance evaluations, counseling and disciplinary action.
• Prepare and adhere to the yearly budget, with Laboratory Support Manager.
• Maintain bench skills to function in all designated areas.
• Oversee off-site phlebotomy locations and traveling phlebotomy services.
• Coordinate daily activities for operation of all phlebotomy stations and traveling team activities.
• Interact with clients as needed, working with Business Development and Clinical Specialist.

Supervisor Outpatient Phlebotomy – Lab Department Non-Technical at Main Campus Hospital – Full-Time 40 Hours a week primarily 8AM-430PM but must be flexible. (Will primarily sit at main campus but requires travel to all outpatient sites as needed throughout Manchester, Londonderry, Hooksett and Bedford).

About the Elliot Lab

The Elliot Hospital Laboratory is a full-service laboratory offering both Clinical
and Anatomical Pathology testing.The Clinical Laboratory operates 24 hours/day,7 days/week offering both stat and routine testing.TheAnatomical Pathology department operates Monday- Friday 7 am to 4 pm.

We conveniently provide services to patients and the community with 5 walk-in labs located in Manchester, Bedford, Hooksett and Londonderry. We also service 60 nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the area.

About The Job

Supervise the operations of and coordinates the activities within the phlebotomy and/or support departments, focusing on the needs of the patients, clients and staff ensuring accuracy from the point of specimen collection.

What You’ll Do

Interact with clients as needed, working with Business Development and Clinical Specialist.

What You’ll Need

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in medical or biological science field preferred.

ASCP certification preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of laboratory experience required. Previous lead or supervisor experience preferred.
