Job Summary

Will supervise a group of over people making sure all materials are properly stored and that materials are provided to production in a timely manner with no shortages. In case of any shortages proper information should be communicated to related depts. to take necessary actions. This supervisor will make sure all areas are organized in an easy-find way to avoid losing time and improve productivity of his area of responsibility. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the equipment use in his area (such as forklifts, scales, pallet jacks, etc.) in good shape following the maintenance procedures. This position has the responsibility of supervising the warehouse material handlers; as part of the daily routine the supervisor will conduct audits to the material prepared for work orders and will take action when discrepancies are found. As part of the weekly routine he would have to conduct safety meetings with his people and will make sure employees follow safety instructions. This Supervisor will make sure that all the paperwork for any material issued out of the warehouse is properly documented and when needed (according to procedures) information will be turned in to inventory control office for proper processing in the ERP system.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise a group of warehouse material handlers making contact with each one of them on daily basis and filling out reports requested by HR.
  • Conduct Safety meeting with his people on weekly basis and turn in documentation to HR dept.
  • Train and reinforce warehouse procedures as well as any other procedure applying to his area of responsibility .
  • Cross-train people to learn different areas.
  • Conduct audits on the work done by any employee under his supervision and take necessary actions.
  • Maintain all equipment under his area of responsibility in good shape( forklifts, scales, pallet jacks, scanners, and any other material handling equipment)
  • Make sure procedures are followed and proper paperwork is turned in on time to inventory control office for proper processing.
  • Must be able to achieve goals with approved budget.
  • Keep area clean and organized.
  • Maintain organized files
  • Provide information and reports requested by top management.
  • Must be able to use ERP system to compare his documentation vs. information processed in the system.
  • Follow up on results on cycle counts and in coordination with Inventory control supervisor take the necessary actions when discrepancies are found.
  • Use resources productively.
  • Any other job related activity as requested by superiors.

Additional Requirements
  • Forklift driving license.
  • Able to travel to other company facilities to perform related activities.
  • CPR certified (desired).
  • Knowledge on proper use of fire extinguishers.
Qualifications

  • E.R.P. or M.R.P. knowledge.

  • Bilingual (preferred).
  • Solve problems using sound judgment.
  • Able to use scales or other device to facilitate counting methods.
  • Good with conversions ( kilos to pounds, liters to gallons, square footage calculations, etc)
  • Knowledge on use of counting scales, scanners, calculators, measuring tape and other warehouse and material handling equipment equipment.
  • Computer literate ( MS office ).
  • Team work oriented.
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Acceptable Experience: 4 to 5 years of experience in similar position with manufacturing background.
Physical Demands
  • Continual walking, standing, reaching, pushing and lifting.
  • Use of hands to include grasping both firm and light.
  • Occasional lifting and/or carrying of 11-30 lbs. Floor to chest.
  • Occasionally working under, over and/or uncomfortable positions.
Environmental Factors
  • Work inside/outside in a non-climate controlled conditions.
  • Exposure to hot/cold temperatures based on outside conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noises.
