Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead our on-site maintenance team in Jacksonville, FL. You will oversee daily activities, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate technicians across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

The role requires experience in preventative maintenance, schematic reading, and strong computer skills. CMRP preferred. Join a Fortune 500 company focused on training, advancement, and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Two years' supervisory experience required or preferred.
  • Experience with Preventative/Planned Maintenance processes and ability to develop procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer software.
  • CMRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Holds safety, quality, customer feedback and financial information meetings with maintenance team members.
  • Reviews safety requirements and identifies potential hazards.
  • Assigns technicians to jobs based on skills and training needs.
  • Reviews planned job packages for completeness and correctness.
  • Ensures technicians understand what, where, how, why and when for each job.
  • Keeps schedule as close to planned as possible and communicates changes.
  • Ensures proper distribution of time and materials with accurate work orders.
  • Initiates corrective work orders from inspections and other sources.

What You'll Do
  • Regularly holds safety, quality, customer feedback and financial information meetings with maintenance team members
  • Reviews safety requirements and points out potential hazards that may exist
  • Ensures, at the start of the shift and throughout the day, the prompt assignment of technicians to specific jobs which are appropriate to their possessed skills and/or to their training needs
  • Reviews available planned job packages for completeness and correctness
  • Confirms the technician knows what, where, how, why, and when for each job providing the opportunity for clarification
  • Makes the tactical decisions necessary: staying as close to schedule as possible
  • Assures accurate distribution of time and materials to specific jobs together with good feedback including proper work order entries
  • Assures that any necessary corrective work orders stemming from inspections and other sources have been initiated
What You'll Need
  • Two years' supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Preventative/Planned Maintenance processes and procedures and ability to develop procedures and schedules preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics
  • Experience working with and maintaining welding machines, hydraulic equipment, mechanical equipment, pneumatic equipment and cooling systems
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer software
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Profession (CMRP) certification preferred
Your Education
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required
