Job summary

CMC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled team at our Birmingham, AL site. You will coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance, review safety, quality, and financial information with the maintenance crew, and assign technicians to jobs based on their skills.

Qualifications

  • Two years' supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with Preventative/Planned Maintenance processes and procedures and ability to develop procedures and schedules preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
  • Experience working with and maintaining welding machines, hydraulic equipment, mechanical equipment, pneumatic equipment and cooling systems.
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer software.
  • CMRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Holds safety, quality, customer feedback and financial information meetings with maintenance team members.
  • Reviews safety requirements and points out potential hazards that may exist.
  • Ensures the start of shift and throughout the day the prompt assignment of technicians to specific jobs appropriate to their skills.
  • Reviews available planned job packages for completeness and correctness.
  • Confirms the technician knows what, where, how, why, and when for each job with opportunity for clarification.
  • Makes tactical decisions to stay as close to schedule as possible.
  • Ensures accurate distribution of time and materials to specific jobs with proper work order entries.
  • Initiates corrective work orders stemming from inspections and other sources.

What You'll Need
  • Two years' supervisory experience preferred
