Job summary

Commercial Metals (CMC) is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a crew in our Birmingham area facilities. You will oversee safety, quality, and efficiency as you keep maintenance plans on track and coordinate with operations to maximize uptime.

You will apply your experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, reviewing plans and directing technicians to complete work safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Two years' supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with Preventative/Planned Maintenance processes and procedures and ability to develop procedures and schedules preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
• Experience working with and maintaining welding machines, hydraulic equipment, mechanical equipment, pneumatic equipment and cooling systems.
• Working knowledge of computers and computer software.
• CMRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, quality, customer feedback and financial information meetings with maintenance team members.
• Review safety requirements and identify potential hazards.
• Assign technicians to jobs based on skills and training needs at shift start and throughout the day.
• Review planned job packages for completeness and correctness.
• Ensure technicians understand what, where, how, why, and when for each job; clarify as needed.
• Make tactical decisions to stay as close to schedule as possible.
• Ensure accurate distribution of time and materials to jobs with proper work orders.
• Initiate corrective work orders stemming from inspections or other sources.

What You'll Do

• Assures that any necessary corrective work orders stemming from inspections and other sources have been initiated

What You'll Need

• Two years' supervisory experience preferred
