Job summary

Commercial Metals in Summerville, SC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across plant facilities.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, maintain records, and collaborate with production and engineering to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Leadership and hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and safety compliance skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach maintenance technicians, including scheduling and performance management.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Recommend equipment upgrades or process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety programs.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills in an industrial or recycling environment
• Leadership and team management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Experience with automated or computerized manufacturing equipment preferred

Your Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of three (3) years of industrial maintenance experience OR a technical degree in a related field
