Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direction and coordination of the Maintenance Department to ensure that the facility and all equipment are maintained in excellent repair, as well as overseeing the safety program.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the Maintenance Department to ensure that the facility and all equipment are maintained in excellent repair.
- Identify problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Maintain spare parts and tool inventories to ensure adequate supplies are on hand at all times to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure that employees and outside contractors understand and adhere to all safety procedures and requirements while working in the facility.
- Perform preventative and demand maintenance as required.
- Assist Plant and Engineering with equipment installation and upgrades.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
- Supervision Given: Supervise the work of others and/or the function.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong language, mathematical, and reasoning skills necessary to compute complex measurements and read and comprehend detailed instructions and electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Specific knowledge areas include:
- Purchasing
- Knowledge of 480-volt 3 Phase power
- Ability to read and interpret ladder logic and electrical diagrams
- Electric motor control troubleshooting
- Mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting
- Operation of welding equipment and cutting torch
- Knowledge of hand and power tools and their safe use
Training Required
- Complete all required training for a "Maintenance Supervisor" as outlined in the training manual.
