Job summary

Children’s Nebraska seeks a Clinical Supervisor to lead pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation services, including PT, OT, speech-language pathology, feeding and dysphagia, and audiology. You will model clinical practice, mentor staff, ensure high-quality patient care, and oversee onboarding, competency, and performance development.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology is required.
• 3 years of clinical experience in acute or outpatient pediatric/adolescent therapy is required.
• 2 years of pediatric feeding & dysphagia experience is required for the Supervisor of Feeding & Dysphagia.
• Lead/preceptor/supervisory experience is preferred.
• Active Nebraska state licensure in PT/OT/SLP and BLS certification are required upon hire.

A Brief Overview

The Clinical Supervisor, Rehabilitation Services provides frontline clinical and operational leadership for pediatric and adolescent therapy services, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Feeding & Dysphagia and Audiology. Serving as a clinical role model and mentor, this position supports high-quality patient care through direct clinical practice, staff development, care coordination, and daily operational oversight. In partnership with the Rehab Manager, the Clinical Supervisor promotes evidence-based practice, quality improvement, program development, efficient operations, and fiscal responsibility. The role helps ensure a skilled and engaged therapy team through onboarding, competency assessment, coaching, and professional development while fostering positive patient and family experiences and a collaborative, family-centered culture of care.

Essential Functions

• Direct Clinical Care & Advanced Practice
  • Provide direct, high-quality clinical care within area of expertise to a diverse pediatric population.
  • Manage complex patient cases requiring advanced clinical reasoning and specialized skills.
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate interventions.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Maintain compliant, accurate billing and charging practices that reflect services provided and support regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Manage patient care through a family-centered episode-of-care framework, partnering with patients and families to establish meaningful goals, develop and adjust treatment plans, monitor progress, and facilitate successful transitions or discharge that optimize functional outcomes and support long-term success.
  • Serve as a clinical role model, demonstrating best practices and high standards of care.
  • Promote positive patient and family experiences through family-centered care, education, and effective communication.
  • Maintain advanced clinical knowledge and contribute to specialty practice development.
• Team Leadership, Onboarding & Staff Development
  • Supports orientation, onboarding, competency assessment, and ongoing professional development of therapy team
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to promote team member growth and engagement.
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and collaborates with team members to establish development goals and performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Assists with recruitment, retention, and employee relations activities in collaboration with leadership.
  • Promotes a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture.
• Operations & Workflow Management
  • Coordinates daily staffing, scheduling, and workflow to support patient access and efficient operations.
  • Addresses operational concerns and facilitates effective communication across the rehabilitation team.
  • Monitors productivity, patient flow, and operational performance measures.
• Quality Improvement, Program Development, Financial Stewardship & Compliance
  • Participates in quality improvement, program development, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Supports implementation of evidence-based practices and outcome measurement processes.
  • Promotes fiscally responsible use of personnel, equipment, supplies, and other resources.
  • Assists with patient and family concerns and promotes a culture of safety, teamwork, and family-centered care.
  • Supports compliance with regulatory, accreditation, documentation, billing and professional practice standards

Education Qualifications

• Master's Degree Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology Required

Experience Qualifications

• 3 years Clinical Experience in Acute or Outpatient Pediatric/Adolescent Therapy Required and
• 2 years Pediatric Feeding & Dysphagia Experience (For Supervisor of Feeding & Dysphagia only) Required and
• Lead/Preceptor/Supervisory Experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Savings (BLS) through American Heart Association Upon Hire Required
• Physical Therapist Active Nebraska State Licensure Upon Hire Required
• Occupational Therapist Active Nebraska State Licensure Upon Hire Required
• Speech Pathologist Active Nebraska State Licensure Upon Hire Required
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Current and Valid ASHA Certificate (SLP Only) Upon Hire Required
• Specialty Certification Preferred
