Job summary

Caltrans in California is seeking a Branch Chief to lead the Division of Human Resources, Office of Transaction Services. You will supervise staff working on Transactions, maintain official personnel records, provide training, and develop policies and procedures for Transactions; experience in Transactions is required.

Eligibility for hire may depend on the Supervisor I exam score and state list status. This is a 12 Month Limited Term, full-time position based in Sacramento with hybrid telework.

Are you looking for an exciting job where you can make a difference? Please consider joining the Division of Human Resources, Office of Transaction Services (OTS). The Branch Chief demonstrates a positive attitude and a commitment to provide quality service that is accurate, timely, and exceeds our customers’ expectations. The Branch Chief is responsible for the leadership of staff engaged in Transactions; official personnel record keeping; training; development and formulation of Transactions’ policies and procedures; and special projects. Transactions experience is required.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Supervisor I exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
