Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy District Director, and reporting to the Assistant Division Chief of Compliance Management, the Chief Executive Liaison serves as a key managerial position within the District 4 Executive Office. The incumbent provides high level executive support to the Chief Deputy District Director and oversees administrative support operations for all Deputy District Directors (DDD's), including Executive Support Staff. The position requires a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy, independent judgment, and leadership, coordinating executive communications, district-wide initiatives, strategic alignment, and high visibility administrative functions. The Chief Executive Liaison manages executive processes, tracks district-wide priorities, oversees correspondence flow, facilitates stakeholder communication, and ensures seamless coordination across the Executive Team, Headquarters, regional partners, and external agencies. The incumbent exercises full supervisory authority over analysts and staff responsible for scheduling, communications, workflow coordination, and administrative support to DDDs. This position is responsible to provide support and back-up coverage to the Chief of Staff.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
