The Employment Development Department (EDD) in Orange County is seeking a Supervisor I for the Unemployment Insurance Support Division to lead the BAM Unit 1. The position supports complex UI claim investigations and ensures accuracy and policy compliance under UI rules.
This 12-month limited-term, full-time role offers a hybrid telework option with an 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. schedule, and may require travel to headquarters in Sacramento or Anaheim as needed.

The Unemployment Insurance Support Division (UISD) is recruiting for a Supervisor (SUP) I for the Benefit Accuracy Measurement (BAM) Unit 1. The unit manager supervises staff who perform a complex and thorough investigation of Unemployment Insurance (UI) claims. Under general direction, the SUP I is responsible for ensuring accurate reviews of selected BAM cases for accuracy and conformity to the Department's Unemployment Insurance (UI) program and other policy and procedures, as well as the Department of Labor/Employment Training Administration reporting requirements. The UI claims are required to be comprehensively reviewed in order to meet the Department of Labor's quality measurement standards. Reviews include interviews with employers, claimants, and field office staff for the purpose of determining compliance under the provisions of the California Unemployment Insurance Code, analyzing state and federal laws and regulations to ensure the State continues to administer the UI program effectively and efficiently while protecting the integrity of the UI Trust Fund. UI program knowledge and experience are required, including extensive UI eligibility determinations knowledge and experience. Employees are required to report to their designated headquarters office in Sacramento or Anaheim. Travel and accommodation expenses incurred while commuting to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Position(s) exist in Orange County. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
