Qualifications

Position: Graham SLAM SupervisorProgram: Graham SLAM (Support, Lead, Achieve, Model)Department: Youth SuccessProgram Overview:Graham SLAM provides Graham Windham youth, starting in 8th grade with comprehensive support, planning and strong peer and adult supports through post-secondary success and onto a living wage career path. Graham SLAM staff stick with youth through age 26.About the Position:We seek a dynamic manager to provide direct supervision to the Graham SLAM Youth Coaches. The Graham SLAM Supervisor will support the coaches in forming transformational relationships with youth to help youth build critical skills and guide youth to academic milestones and career success.Duties and Responsibilities:Delivers ongoing management, direction and support to coaches. Guides staff to use Solution-Based Casework and Motivational Interviewing techniques to develop and follow action plans to reach these goals, with consistent support, communication, and follow-through.Provides supervision to assigned staff creating psychological safety by leading with vulnerability, authenticity and accountability, enabling staff to offer appropriate and consistent services through ongoing training and skills developmentSupports staff in developing strong relationships with young people using effective modeling of pro-social skills.Responsible for recruiting youth for Graham SLAM therapeutic peer groups.Helps staff facilitate therapeutic peer groups which focus on skill building such as effective communication, interpersonal relationships, teamwork, leadership, conflict management, self-composure, personal accountability and service learning.Forms strong relationships across Graham with case planners, supervisors, care coordinators and therapists and works to create a collaborative culture within Graham SLAM.Helps build systems to collect data and participates in data informed management meetingsEnsures that efficient administrative procedures are in placeEffectively manages financial information, and physical resources to achieve the program’s objectivesPartners with the Program Director to conduct outreach to outside community agencies and provide direction to all program staffCollaborates with other system providers to help insure that the varied systems are driving towards similar goals in a coordinated fashion.Is committed to furthering anti-racist efforts, is able to work with diverse cultures and populations including LGBTQIA+, can process information and respond empathically.Participates in scheduled staff meetings and staff trainings.A Graham SLAM Supervisor:Is strengths-focused, believes that change is possible and is able to inspire hopeUnderstands the importance of fostering positive relationships with youth, families and colleaguesRespects and values families and is genuinely willing to engage the family’s energy and commitment towards their youth’s success.Is able to express empathy and genuine caring, while maintaining healthy boundaries.Is open to learning new methods of working with youth and willing to hold him/herself to high practice standards.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferredMinimum of three years of experience working with adolescents and experience working with at-risk adolescents highly desirable, preferably in the field of child welfare.
