Job summary

Shield HealthCare in Valencia, California is seeking a Second Shift Warehouse Supervisor to supervise and coordinate daily distribution operations for non-exempt staff.

You will oversee receiving, inventory, packing and shipping, ensure OSHA compliance and safety, and help with training. The role requires forklift certification and experience supervising warehouse teams. Salary ranges from $30 to $45 per hour, depending on experience.

Shield HealthCare is looking for a Second Shift Warehouse Supervisor to supervise and coordinate activities of non-exempt employees with regards to daily distribution department operations of our Valencia, California warehouse.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises daily warehouse operations and staff
• Performs distribution clerk functions when required
• Ensures timely and efficient delivery of orders to assure customer satisfaction
• Supervises staff and periodically inspects orders to ensure quality control standards are met
• Inspects warehouse facilities equipment; recommends changes in allocation of space and procedures to assistant manager and supervisors
• Ensure daily housekeeping supports a safe and functional work environment
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, legal and other governmental agencies
• Directly responsible for overseeing the safe operation of all equipment; processes of inventory as well as reporting and correction of all unsafe conditions
• Takes active role in training of warehouse team to include participation in department safety program
• Satisfy requirements of internal customers as necessary
• Assists with orientation and training, when necessary disciplines department personnel
• Will assist manager in completion of facilities maintenance requirements
• Accountable for particular functional section of department such as Receiving, Bulk, AM or PM operation
• Responsible for opening Franklin building daily as well as all receiving, inventory stocking and replenishment functions
• Responsible for daily workload preparation and administrative functions as required
• Responsible for order packing and shipping operations as well as nightly close of the Franklin building when needed
• Responsible for the month end closing duties
• Miscellaneous projects as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years supervising warehouse, distribution, or logistics function
• Working knowledge of OSHA and legal requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to learn basic functions of AS400, SQL, Microsoft Access, Epicor, and Clippership TMS
• Must be certified and able to operate forklift
• Open or close business as needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The posted range for this position is $30-45/hour which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role.
