Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. in Temple, TX is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead a team and ensure accurate, timely vendor payments and strong internal controls.

You will supervise daily AP operations, coordinate workflows, mentor staff, and partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to drive process improvements in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Accounts Payable Supervisor

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Accounts Payable Department to achieve accurate and timely control of vendor payments, provide accounts payable support to vendors and distribution centers. Supervise the work of an Accounts Payable team.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Analyze, develop, request and review all changes within the accounts payable department.
• Ensure the application of proper accounting principles by the Accounts Payable department to ensure that all operational accounting policies and internal controls are being enforced by department personnel.
• Coordinate and monitor the production of the accounts payable department.

Effectively communicate with oral and written skills with Officers, Vendors, and Field personnel.

• Supervise the application of vendor payments, review for accuracy and ensure that proper documentation is being processed in a timely manner.
• Oversee and review month-end accounts payable processing.
• Complete special assignments for the Accounts Payable Manager, and VP Controller.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently produce quality results in a demanding environment.

Minimum Qualifications And Requirements

• Have Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent.
• Must have 3 years of supervisory experience in Accounts Payable.
• Must have the ability to track activities and meet deadlines.
• Have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Have the ability to coordinate the workflow and duties of an accounts payable team.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Be detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy.
