Base pay range

$80,150.00/yr - $108,202.00/yr

Job Description

As a Supervisor - Accounting, you will supervise accounting staff in the day-to-day operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue and asset accounting, as well as associated analysis and reporting. You will oversee calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for maintaining accounting and statistical records. You will ensure the integrity of accounting records by ensuring staff compliance with organization policies and procedures. You will make day-to-day decisions within or for a small department or team.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop operational plans to achieve results aligned with company goals.
  2. Set goals for the team, manage execution, and measure results.
  3. Compile and analyze financial information, prepare journal entries and statements, and assist with monthly closing and reporting.
  4. Verify data processing accuracy for accounting information.
  5. Ensure general ledger accounts are accurate, reconciled, and understood.
  6. Research and explain variances in ledger accounts related to trends, budgets, and prior years.
  7. Manage daily operations of the accounting team, including assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work.
  8. Document procedures and identify/process improvements.
  9. Oversee accounting systems, including system enhancements.
  10. Resolve account discrepancies.
  11. Ensure timely and accurate completion of supporting tasks.
  12. Manage, evaluate, and develop staff, providing coaching and developmental opportunities.
  13. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley, and coordinate audits.
  14. Prepare monthly reconciliations and reports.
  15. Respond to inquiries and resolve issues.
  16. Assist with special accounting projects.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Preferred: CIMA/ACA/ACCA/ICAEW/CPA qualification.
  3. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
  4. Preferred: 1+ years supervisory experience.
  5. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and accounting principles.
  6. Proficiency in financial reporting and record keeping.
  7. Ability to operate office equipment and accounting software.
  8. Strong communication skills.

Compensation: $80,150 - $108,202 annually. Actual offers may vary based on various factors. Benefits include paid time off, insurance, retirement plans, and more.
