Job summary

CoolSys is hiring Refrigeration Start-up Technicians to lead start-up of supermarket refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems and to support Energy Optimization projects. The role requires Journeyman-level experience, EMS knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems across multiple stores.

Candidates should have 5+ years in commercial refrigeration, CO2 experience is a plus, EPA I/II certification, and a valid driver’s license. Travel and overtime are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Coursework at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school.
• 3+ years of supermarket EMS systems.
• EMS Certification preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration; especially parallel rack systems with CO2 a plus.
• EPA I and II Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Expert knowledge of refrigeration, ice machines, and electrical systems.
• Reading blueprints for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Performance of evacuations of parallel racks after pressure tests.
• EMS wiring and programming for EMS systems from manufacturers.
• Full start-up of new parallel refrigeration systems and individual systems.
• Lead small projects like single case and condenser changes.
• Assist with EO projects including retro-commissioning and EMS upgrades.
• Coordinate with Service and Construction Managers across stores.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
